Cinema Lingo
For this project, I chose to redesign an existing app called TheaterEars, an app that lets users sync movie audio in different languages while watching films in the theater. I renamed the redesigned version Cinema Lingo to give it a more modern, cinematic identity. The main problems I identified in the original app were its slow syncing process, cluttered interface, and frequent ads that interrupted the user experience. To solve these issues, I focused on creating a clean, simplified layout with clearer navigation, fewer distractions, and a more intuitive syncing flow. In Cinema Lingo, users can quickly choose their movie, select their preferred language, and sync with confidence. I also added a “Nearest Theaters to You” tab that uses location-based suggestions to help users find nearby theaters playing their chosen movie—making the app more convenient and useful before they even arrive. Overall, my redesign improves usability, reduces friction, and creates a smoother, more enjoyable experience for multilingual moviegoers.
